Aquipt's MatterPoint Case Platform Speeds Up Legal File Transfers with Aspera
By Colleen Lynch, TMCnet Contributor
Transporting legal documents and data is a risky business whether physically transporting files in a binder from office to office, mailing them from state to state, or electronically sending files online. Now there is a safer way to do it, with a solution developed by Aspera (News - Alert), Inc. and Aquipt.
Aspera, Inc. creates software technologies to move large data at maximum speeds, while Aquipt provides technology services for law firms and litigation support teams.
Aquipt has a hosted case management platform called MatterPoint, and the company’s co-developed solution will work securely to transfer legal data to and from that platform.
Michelle Munson, CEO of Aspera, Inc., described her company’s excitement at working with Aquipt’s MatterPoint platform. “Hosted solutions like MatterPoint deliver unprecedented cost savings and efficiencies to their users,” said Munson. “Aspera fasp-powered high-speed and secure transfers enable these applications to ingest and distribute data sets of virtually unlimited sizes to users located anywhere in the world.”
The unparalleled size capability Aspera offers is one of the reasons Aquipt was also keen to enter the partnership.
“With Aspera, we can now transfer 20 gigabytes per hour from west coast to east coast using our dedicated 45 Mbps pipe. This allows us to accept production cases with tight deadlines that were not achievable with other technologies,” added Richard Wein, CEO of Aquipt.
Wein highlighted another benefit of Aspera’s system, which includes the Aspera Connect Server and the Aspera Console, and why it works so well for this project, saying, “It’s not a big, complex, drawn-out project to get Aspera up and running.”
MatterPoint is in demand for its ability to “scale throughput as [user] demand increases, making them indispensable tools for big-data use cases like eDiscovery,” said Munson, so deploying it with a secure and reliable service like Aspera makes the service’s delivery all the more seamless.
The way users will engage with Aspera and Aquipt’s new solution will be by uploading data to Aquipt’s MatterPoint platform then performing tasks directly on the server or sending the data to another location via Aspera’s high-speed fasp transfer technology.
Accessible tasks on MatterPoint include search, analysis, extraction, processing, management, and maintenance, among others, and all within an affordable and capable infrastructure.
With Aspera’s maximum transfer speeds and Aquipt’s comprehensive platform, this partnership looks to be successful, and will make the lives of many working in law much easier.
